Thinking about ShOeS...

Good morning / noon / afternoon / night ( depend on where you are ) everyone !

First of all I want to show you my selfmade scarf....Ta taaa and here it is!!!
You can find the instructions on my DYI Post . I like it very much and I really wear it almost every day . I think it's time to make another one :)

as you can see on the pictures I am a huge fan of shepskin boots and the only thing I miss about winter are my beloved boots . I own boots ( loads of them ) and sandals ! I dont wear shoes ...only booties . It is the time of the year were I must start thinking about something shoe-ish / bootie -ish . I have had a look on the Fab store and here are some shoes I like .

my favorite is the Leopard one !!!! Above of it is the 3 in 1 shoe ....you can wear it as a slip-on , loafer or bootie! Wow !!!
Anyways .... I must get ready for work !

well ....hello there !!!
it's been a while now but I've be working a lot this past week !!! Today 25 of March it is again a holiday here in Greece !We celebrate the War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire . The Greek Revolution was a successful war waged by the Greek revolutionaries of 1821 ! and the Annunciation ( Evangelismos) of Virgin Mary. So all people called Evangelia / Evangelos celebrate their Nameday. 








Today most of the greeks eat the traditional meal "Bakaliaros Skordalia" whis is Cod fish with garlic mashed potatoes. Very delicious !!! You can find the recipe here

Apart from working I also went to the movies and watched  "I'am  so excited “ from Pedro Almodovar . It was such a great break and I really laughed a lot . I like Almodovar very much . His view of things , the sarcastic touch he always brings into his movies . The movie is about a flight going to Mexico City . During the flight some technical problem shows up and the plane is making circles over Toledo until the tower finds  a free landing space . And here is were the story begins .How much of your private life do you share when you feel that the end is coming ? Different people , different life’s , secrets that are melting …..

And as the weather is getting warmer everyday and the trees and flowers blossom I find some nice spring looks , hope you like them as much as I do !

On the road again ....

Today it's a holiday here in Greece called "Clean Monday" . It was the last weekend of Carnival and from tomorrow on we count 40 days to Easter .
Tomorrow morning I am off to Thessaloniki ! Work is calling . I will be staying for about a month . All the last days I spend many hours doing laundry and today it's time to prepare my bag . Of course I am a expert in packing as I am away almost all the time but this time of the year you don't really know what to take and what to leave. It's when you start talking to yourself :
You : " Hmmm , should I take this sweater with me ? "
Brain : " No , it's not that cold anymore !"
You : " Yes but if the weather is getting colder ?"
Brain : " Ok , take it "
You : " Yes BUT it's taking a lot of space in my bag .... "
Brain : " Do whatever you want "
You : " You never help me .... "
I don't know if this happens to you but I do it a lot .
Sooo what I take with me for sure aside clothes and shoes and cosmetics and and and  ? My new Laptop of course !!!! To write whenever there is time on my Blog but unfortunatelly also to write for my Exams :-(

Sunday morning ...

Happy Sunday everyone ,

today I decided to bake a traditional german Erdbeerkuchen ! It is a strawberry cake with jelly on the top . Yesterday , seeing this delicious strawberries at the market I just couldn't resist ! I love this cake as it is light and fruity , the beginning of SpringSeason ! You can serve it plain or with whipped cream on top of every piece . I chosed whipped  almond cream .


Recipe

75 g soft Butter
75 g Sugar
1 package Vanilla sugar
2 eggs
125 g wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon fresh Milk
1 kg strawberries
1 package red Tortenguss / red glaze

Stir the soft butter and add both sugars into it . Insert the eggs one by one and keep stiring . Mix the flour with the baking powder and sieve the flour into the dough . Stir it well and insert the milk . Put it into a tart pan ( 28 cm diameter ) . You can use a silicon one , so you don't have to put any oil on it , if not make sure to grease your pan .
Bake it for 20-25 min. on a preheat oven ( 175-200 degree )

While the tart is in the oven wash your strawberries and let them dry on kitchen paper .
Ding , dong .....tart is ready ! If you are like me don't forget to put some alarm to remind you about the cake ....... now you can make the best part . Take a plate and put the tart upside down on it . WOW ! Isn't it a great moment when you see your work of splendor ?
Now fill your tart with your strawberries . You can cut them in half or even smaller , you can put them as they are , it is up to you . Prepare the glaze . Read the directions on the package . For mine I need 250 ml water and 1 tablespoon sugar . I stir it until it is one step before boiling . Let it cool for 3-4 minutes ( it stays better on the strawberries ) and cover all the strawberries with it . Put it into the fridge for at least 2 hours !

Nights in Movies ....

I am a big fan of old movies and one of my favorite is Imitation of Life ! When I was little this movie was shown every Christmas on the german TV . I was sitting there with my aunt and even thou we knew what happened next we shhh everyone . We still remember those times when we meet . She lives in Germany and we don't see each other often , so no more Imitation of Life Christmas .
Imitation of Life is a 1959 American romantic drama directed by Douglas Sirk . Find more information here 
Even thou this movie is quite old it still is very up to date . It shows how much  the colour of someone affects relationships , society and chances in Life !!! The Cast is incredible , Lana Turner , John Gavin , Juanita Moore and many more !
It's very touching and at the end I always make sure that there is a large box of tissues next to me ! A great movie for a night in .....cosy in a blanket on the sofa/bed/chair/floor or wherever you like !

today I am about to post in German , as I want to write about a german book I read which was soooo funny and wonderful that it really relaxed me so much ! If you know german BUY this book !!!!!!!!!!! The free translation of the title : 12 Months , 12 Dudes and a Happy End . The Writer is called Juli Rautenberg and she actually really wrote a blog about finding the perfect Man !

 Hallo an alle deutschsprachige Leser/innen !
Ich stehe unter ExamensDruck und wollte wenigstes abends etwas lesen , dass mich entspannen laesst . Also fing ich mit der Suche im Internet an . Und so bin ich auf dieses Buch gestossen . Ich fand die Rezensionen recht gut und habe mir dieses Buch auf mein Ipad geladen ! UND es keine sekunde lang bereut . Ich musste Traenen lachen und konnte mich selbst in einigen Situationen wiederfinden . Ein super Buch , sehr fluessig und witzig geschrieben . Juli Rautenberg hat wirklich einen Blog geschrieben und dieses "Experiment" ein Jahr lang darin dokumentiert . Ich werde natuerlich auch ihr zweites Buch lesen , eine Fortsetzung dieses Buches .  Der Titel : Ich nehme alles zurueck und behaupte das Gegenteil . Sobald ich es gelesen habe werde ich mich melden , bis dahin alles Liebe und lasst euch vom lesen verfuehren !

Finally I am a few days at home !!! But only a short break as I will be away again for  about a month . So ...NO I still havent finished my scarf yet :( and there is no picture to show .
